Her backyard was still shrouded in shade and dew, but the early fall colors of the woods beyond her yard were set to burning like hot metal by the morning light. Even she couldn't help but stop and gape for a moment. The air felt like it had just blown from the surface of a mountain spring, cold and living. Then my friend, red backpack bouncing respectfully, set out across the shorn lawn."
Thank you! The color you see is probably not the color I intended to use in the piece, as I designed it on a laptop screen that isn't calibrated. I expect I'll have to do some work with the printers to get it the way I want. But that's just a monitor thing. I take the compliment for what it is, and credit my schooling! I did the painting on my wacom tablet, but I used all the techniques we were taught in my oil painting class at WWU.
I'm a little bit more brutal with real paints though. I hate them, but my professor once complimented me by saying that I paint like an axe murderor. That was cool.
